There’s only one thing wrong with Valentine’s Day.
No one is ever happy for anyone.
It seems silly to me that a day, however commercialized it has become, which is dedicated to “love” is seen as a negative day UNLESS you have a significant other to celebrate it with. Valentine’s Day is not a negative day unless you choose to see it that way.
As for me, I am happy that people who have a significant other can take this day to go out to eat, buy someone flowers, go see a movie, and just in general make time to spend with one another.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
P.S. – what holiday hasn’t become commercialized these days?
I have a big problem with people telling me to be “open minded.” At first, being open minded seems like a good thing. You don’t want to spend your entire life thinking what you know and what you think is the best knowledge out there. It’s self-centered. It’s dangerous. And it’s stupid. You should want to grow. You should want to learn. You should want to become a better, wiser, more knowledgeable you.
Suddenly, in the last few minutes, I wrote more than 20 posts.
While I wait for my illness to go away, I will write a small weekly entry. You see, that’s my new thing.
I’m sure I’ve stated this before, but I don’t do “New Years’ Resolutions.” It’s not that I’m against the concept or averse to the social construct… they just don’t work.
I usually have
“reasons” for not doing something. Those reasons range from fear to
timing to being short on cash. But most often, the reason I don’t do something
is because I don’t know how it will turn out.
I don’t like not
There are some things in my life that are a-changin’. And so, this blog is changing too. I left WordPress.com to go to my own site. But, it turns out that unless you’re on WordPress.com then the WordPress software cuts you off from the WordPress community. So, those people who had WordPress that followed this blog could no longer “follow” me. So, I am on my way back. There will be a bunch of updates over the coming months. This blog is going to get messier before it gets cleaned up.
In the mean time…
How have you been?
Tired of the shifting midwestern weather?
Yeah… me too.
P.S. – I hope this works this time.
Let’s get this fire going so it can fizzle out and I can get back to my boring, non-productive life.
First of all, I don’t do “resolutions”. They’re not real. Nobody means it when they make a resolution. It’s just a front to seem like you’ve learned something from the past year, and you’re ready to grow. But it’s a farce. People don’t keep New Year’s resolutions.
